We’re supporting Helping Homeless Veterans UK charity

Blogs

We recently met with David Wood of the charity Helping Homeless Veterans UK. After hearing their story we were keen to support their work, both financially and practically.

Helping Homeless Veterans UK started in September 2019 and less than two years later, became a registered charity with the Charities Commission (number 1195521).

HHVUK relies solely on donations from the general public as well as grants from companies and organisations. They aim to provide the complete package for those that need assistance, from housing, to jobs and emotional support.

The charity spends100% of all donations on helping veterans and none of the team are salaried.

Their biggest project to date is the Veterans Build Project, which is 6 ensuite flatlets as temporary accommodation. This takes away the huge expense of hotels, but requires another £30,000 to complete.

We passed out leaflets at the Bournemouth Air Festival, and received a great reception from visitors and exhibitors. Hopefully this will be the start of a profitable relationship for the charity, and encourage our clients to generously support their essential work through these difficult times.

We had an incredible day, and the event was a great success with over 10,000 leaflets distributed and £4000 raised.
