Our Charges

Initial advice charges

Investments, Pensions & Lump Sum Transfers

Charges are tiered, like tax bands — each portion of your investment is charged at its own band’s rate, not the whole amount at a single rate.

Initial advice charges by investment band
Investment band Rate on this slice
The first £149,999 2%Min. £700 e.g. £200 per £10,000 of this slice
The next £150,000 (£150,000–£299,999) 0.5% e.g. £50 per £10,000 of this slice
The next £700,000 (£300,000–£1,000,000) 0.4% e.g. £40 per £10,000 of this slice
Above £1,000,000 0.25% e.g. £25 per £10,000 of this slice

Worked example — £200,000 invested: 2% on the first £149,999 (≈£3,000), plus 0.5% on the remaining £50,001 (≈£250) — a total of approximately £3,250.

Figures are illustrative examples of our standard charging structure. Your own charges will always be confirmed with you in writing before any work begins.

Keeping Your Plans on Track

We recognise that our clients have different needs for advice and information, and want the comfort of knowing that their plans are being looked after. Putting a service agreement in place ensures that we will keep your plans under review so they stay on track.

Retainer service

To ensure that your plans receive basic monitoring and oversight, we provide basic administration of your policies. This includes provider statements and important notices, and access to a financial adviser when required (subject to additional charges). We will not offer review meetings or monitor your investment returns until you ask us to.

How it’s charged: a basic monthly fee for retaining our services, plus additional fees for work instructed, charged at the applicable hourly rate.

† If the tiered calculation above comes to less than £700 a year, we will charge £700, unless we have agreed a different amount with you in writing. At our discretion, and taking into account your overall relationship with us, we may agree a lower ongoing charge; any such arrangement will always be confirmed to you in writing.

Primarily our ongoing services are paid for by a percentage charge taken from your investments; some clients choose to pay us directly. As the charge is percentage based it will increase as your assets under advice change. The charge will be reviewed annually and may be increased or decreased depending on your assets under advice. Charges will start from the point that we agree to provide services to you.

The value of advice

What Your Fee Actually Pays For

Placing a trade costs next to nothing these days. The expertise behind the decision is where the real value lies — and it’s built over years, not downloaded from an app.

Judgement, Not Just Execution

Anyone can place a trade online in seconds. The hard part — knowing what to buy, when to act, and when to do nothing — comes from decades of experience across market cycles.

Staying the Course

Markets fall as well as rise. Clients with an adviser are far less likely to panic-sell at the wrong moment — one of the most common ways people damage their own returns.

Tax-Efficient by Habit

Using the right allowances, wrappers and reliefs, consistently, year after year — so you keep more of what you’ve built.

Joined-Up Planning

Pensions, investments, protection and estate planning working together as one plan, not five separate decisions made in isolation.
